Acceptable Use Policy
Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) explains what you may and may not use the AI features of MyMemo for. MyMemo is operated by MyMemo AI LLC (“MyMemo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). “AI features” means AskMemo, the MyMemo Agent, AI summaries, MemoCast, and any other part of MyMemo that uses AI to produce text, audio or other output, or to carry out tasks for you.
MyMemo exists to help you save, organize and make sense of what you learn. Almost everyone uses it well within these rules. They are here to keep the AI features safe for you, for the people around you, and for everyone else who uses MyMemo.
This Policy applies in addition to our User Agreement andPrivacy Policy. It covers what you ask an AI feature to do, the content you point it at, and how you use what it produces. A prohibited request is still prohibited when it is split into smaller parts, wrapped in a hypothetical or a role-play, or routed through a translation.
Prohibited uses
Do not use MyMemo's AI features to create, request, plan or carry out anything described below.
1. Illegal activity
Anything that breaks the law where you are or where the effects will be felt. This includes buying or selling illegal drugs or other prohibited goods, laundering money, evading sanctions, trafficking people, and infringing other people's intellectual property.
2. Critical infrastructure
Planning or helping to damage or disrupt the systems that communities rely on, such as power grids, water supply, transport and air traffic control, hospitals and emergency services, telecommunications networks, and the infrastructure of financial markets. This includes mapping weaknesses in those systems so they can be attacked.
3. Unauthorized access to computer systems
Getting into accounts, devices, networks or data that you are not authorized to access. Do not use AI features to write or improve malware or ransomware, to build exploits for systems you don't own or have permission to test, to crack passwords, or to steal login credentials.
4. Weapons
Making, obtaining or modifying weapons that can cause serious harm. This covers instructions for building firearms or illegally converting them, making explosives or incendiary devices, and anything that would help someone develop, produce or deploy chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons, including sourcing restricted materials for them.
5. Violence and hateful conduct
Threatening, planning, inciting or celebrating violence against people or animals; supporting, promoting or recruiting for violent extremist or terrorist groups; or producing content that attacks or demeans people, or calls for discrimination against them, because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or a similar characteristic.
6. Privacy and identity rights
Collecting, combining or exposing personal information about people without their consent or another lawful basis. Examples include building a profile of a private person from scattered sources, publishing someone's home address or medical or financial details, and guessing sensitive traits such as health or sexual orientation from someone's data. Do not impersonate a real person in a way that could mislead others, or use someone's name, image or voice without their permission.
7. Children's safety
Any content that sexualizes minors is never allowed, and we report child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities as required by law. You also may not use AI features to groom or contact children for sexual purposes, to gain access to children in order to harm them, or to promote, plan or hide the abuse, exploitation or trafficking of children.
8. Cruel, abusive or psychologically harmful conduct
Bullying, harassing, stalking or intimidating anyone; creating content meant to shame or humiliate a specific person; encouraging suicide, self-harm or disordered eating, or giving instructions for them; and depicting real cruelty to people or animals for entertainment. If you are going through a hard time yourself, please readIf you're struggling.
9. Disinformation
Producing false or misleading information and presenting it as true where it could cause harm, such as invented medical or health claims, fake news reports, fabricated quotes or documents attributed to real people or organizations, misleading claims during emergencies, and defamatory statements about real people.
10. Deceptive campaigns and fake activity
Generating fake reviews, comments, followers or engagement; running networks of fake accounts or invented personas; producing content in bulk to game search rankings, ratings or public conversation; and hiding that content was made with AI where the law or the platform you publish on requires you to say so.
11. Democratic processes
Interfering with elections, referendums or other civic processes. This includes spreading false information about when, where or how to vote, discouraging or intimidating voters, impersonating candidates, election officials or public authorities, and running political influence campaigns that hide who is really behind them.
12. Surveillance and prohibited law-enforcement uses
Tracking, monitoring or profiling people without their knowledge or a lawful basis, for example by secretly following someone's location, messages or online activity, or by using facial recognition or other biometric data to identify people. You also may not use AI features to predict whether a particular person will commit a crime based on their profile or characteristics, to give people social scores, or to target or persecute people for their beliefs, political views or activism.
13. Fraudulent, abusive or predatory practices
Scams, phishing and other schemes that trick people out of money, personal data or account access; forged documents, identities or credentials; pyramid and other fraudulent investment schemes; selling counterfeit goods or products with false health claims; and tactics that pressure or exploit people in vulnerable situations, such as predatory lending.
14. Platform abuse
Getting around the safeguards, screening, usage limits or account restrictions that protect MyMemo and its users. This includes jailbreak and prompt-injection techniques, hiding a prohibited request inside saved content, and opening new accounts after a suspension. You also may not scrape or bulk-extract data from MyMemo or its AI features beyond what our official features and integrations allow, resell or offer access to MyMemo's AI features as your own service without our written permission, or otherwise break the use restrictions in our User Agreement.
15. Sexually explicit content
Generating pornographic or sexually explicit material or erotic chat, and any sexual content involving real, identifiable people, including intimate images or “deepfakes” made without their consent. Content that sexualizes minors is covered by section 7 and is never allowed. Factual information about sexual health, sex education and relationships is fine.
Legitimate use of sensitive topics
MyMemo is where you keep what you read, hear and research, and some of that will deal with difficult subjects. You may use AI features to summarize, search, explain and analyze sensitive material in your own library, such as news coverage of an attack, a history of a war or genocide, a medical study on overdoses, a security advisory or court records, for research, journalism, history, education, safety or your professional work.
What this Policy prohibits is using AI features to produce the harmful content itself. Summarizing an article about a bombing is fine; asking for step-by-step instructions to build a bomb is not, whatever the reason given.
How we enforce this policy
- Automatic screening. Questions you send to our AI features are checked automatically against this Policy before an answer is generated.
- Refusals. If a request breaks this Policy, you receive a short message saying it can't be answered, with a link to this page, instead of an answer.
- No usage charge. Refused requests do not count against your plan's usage limits.
- Account action. Repeated or severe violations may lead to suspension of your account under our User Agreement.
- Mistakes. Automated screening is not perfect and sometimes blocks a legitimate request. If that happens, try rephrasing your question so its purpose is clear, or contact us at [email protected].
If you're struggling
If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or something feels like too much to handle, you don't have to face it alone. Please reach out to someone you trust, or contact a crisis line or your local emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, call emergency services now.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy as our AI features, the law and the risks around AI change. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use MyMemo's AI features after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Policy.
